Coming soon to brighterkind

Granby Court is one of a number of select care homes that will soon become a brighterkind home.

Under this new direction Granby Court, which is currently a Four Seasons Health Care home, will be rebranded to brighterkind in 2015. Our residents will continue to benefit from our commitment to providing excellent care and we will introduce other improvements during the year. To find out more about our approach to care, see the brighterkind website.

Granby Court, in the historic spa town of Harrogate, North Yorkshire, was built around 1760 and used as a hotel until 1994. Now it has been renovated to create this elegant and stylish care home with beautiful landscaped gardens. Residents can check the view of Harrogate Stray while they enjoy afternoon tea in the foyer, leaf through the books, magazines and papers in the Tockwith Library; or visit the mini cinema which screens popular and classic films. At Granby Court Care Home, residents are considered part of the family. We put their health and happiness at the heart of everything we do, and our dedicated team of nurses and carers actively encourage residents to take part in all decisions - contributing to everything from the way their rooms look to the therapies they receive.

Life at Granby Court

We have two dedicated activities coordinators who provide both individual and group activities, which include outings to local attractions and places of interest. In-house activities include, among others, quizzes, crosswords and flower arranging. People living here can have sensory stimulation in our dedicated room, or in their own bedroom. Pets as Therapy dogs visit each month, and we have a budgie everyone loves taking care of.

Our Care

  • residential care

Provided by trained carers, residential care offers assistance with everyday activities, such as washing, dressing, eating, and mobility. Our residents can be comfortable and confident in the knowledge that these areas of their life won’t be a struggle, so they can get on doing the things they love.

We will do everything we can to make sure you’re happy, comfortable and cared for. From activities and morning coffee, to mealtimes and days out we are always happy to go that extra mile.

  • respite care

Respite care is for those wishing to stay with us on a short-term basis, whether you temporarily need extra support or are recovering from an illness or operation. Our respite residents get the same excellent level of personalised care as our long-term residents, the same variety of recreational activities, and delicious restaurant-quality meals.

Fees and Funding

How are fees charged?

How much you pay will depend on the care home, the length of your stay, the level of care you require, the size and location of your room and any chargeable extras you decide to pay for. If you require financial assistance, your local authority will decide what level of care you require and look at your income and savings to determine whether you will need to make a contribution towards the cost. This will vary slightly according to where you live in the UK. You can read more about fees and funding on the brighterkind care web site.

Do I qualify for financial assistance?
