At The Branksome we're committed to providing best-quality nursing and residential care. We have a trained nurse on duty 24 hours a day, and always with the right number of care staff to assist. We select our staff for their reliability, integrity, skill, friendliness and professionalism. Set in the old spa town of Buxton, Derbyshire, in the glorious Peak District, we're close to all local amenities. Ours is a Tudor-style house in its own gardens, with spacious, charming lounges featuring splendid chandeliers and impressive fireplaces. Here people relax and socialise. We have bedrooms for 34 residents, each with its own en-suite facilities

Life at The Branksome

At our refurbished home we create a warm atmosphere, with the focus on helping all residents feel comfortable and relaxed. Our activities coordinator helps to meet residents' social needs with outings like shopping trips and day excursions into the stunning Derbyshire scenery. Our minibus is adapted to take wheelchairs. Catering is high quality, and our team of chefs plans each daily menu with the emphasis on individual choice.

Our Care

  • residential care

Provided by trained carers, residential care offers assistance with everyday activities, such as washing, dressing, eating, and mobility. Our residents can be comfortable and confident in the knowledge that these areas of their life won’t be a struggle, so they can get on doing the things they love.

We will do everything we can to make sure you’re happy, comfortable and cared for. From activities and morning coffee, to mealtimes and days out we are always happy to go that extra mile.

  • nursing care

Our nursing care provides an extra level of support and care for residents with more complex healthcare needs. Provided by Registered Nurses, this can involve regular medication regimes, wound care, constant assessment, monitoring and care planning. They are supported by our trained carers, who assist with all aspects of personal care and support.

  • palliative care

We give value to a person’s dying wishes as well as to their living wishes, and care for residents at this difficult and emotional time. Also known as end of life care, palliative care provides active physical care, pain and symptom management, and psychological, social, spiritual and practical support for individuals whose condition no longer responds to treatment. We aim to ease suffering, helping them to live as well as possible with dignity and respect.

  • respite care

Respite care is for those wishing to stay with us on a short-term basis, whether you temporarily need extra support or are recovering from an illness or operation. Our respite residents get the same excellent level of personalised care as our long-term residents, the same variety of recreational activities, and delicious restaurant-quality meals.

If you require financial assistance, your local authority will decide what level of care you require and look at your income and savings to determine whether you will need to make a contribution towards the cost. This will vary slightly according to where you live in the UK.
