On 31st October many brighterkind homes took the opportunity to throw their residents a spooky Halloween themed day.
Homes were decorated and prizes for the best costumes and apple bobbing were features of the day. Some homes held pumpkin carving lessons and even flower arranging classes, where beautiful displays were created inside pumpkins!
Between 18th and 22nd November, many brighterkind homes will be taking part in activities around Nursery Rhyme Week.

These new titles cover a spectrum of genres, from crime to history and even some romance for good measure.

Mental Health Awareness Day is a campaign run by the Mental Health Foundation to help raise awareness of the importance of mental health and the ways we can all support the cause.

Residents, family and team members at an Andover care home are celebrating after it was praised by inspectors.
Ashbourne Court Care Home, in Salisbury Road, has been rated ‘outstanding’ by the healthcare regulator the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The home, which cares for up to 64 residents and is part of brighterkind, specialises in residential and nursing care, and those living with dementia and end-of-life care.
Attendance Allowance is available to anybody 65 and over with physical or mental disabilities and who needs help with washing, dressing or eating.
You are eligible for an attendance allowance if you pay for your care in a care home.

This event is all about how important it is to carry on learning even into old age. It keeps the brain active and engaged and has links to slowing down memory loss in the elderly. This is your chance to shout about the wonderful things you put on in your particular home that enables your residents to ‘Carry On Learning’ and having fun!
