On 27th March, The Granby Care Home in Harrogate celebrated the team’s outstanding work by holding an awards night at the home.
Team member, Hayley Welfare, suggested the awards night where the team nominated their colleagues to show how much they appreciate each other and uphold brighterkind’s core values.
Hungerford Care Home are getting into the Christmas spirit by putting their decorations up. Their theme is winter wonderland and their reception area features a beautiful Christmas tree that is 10 feet tall!
To add to their winter wonderland theme, they have created a snowy scene around the mantel piece with a penguin getting toasty by the fire!
The decorations have received high praise from family members who said: “wow! What an amazing tree” and “looks beautiful”.
On Thursday the 30th November resident, Alan and his wife, Angela, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at Hungerford Care Home. Our team organised a surprise tea party with a special homemade cake, courtesy of our amazing chef that was made especially for their diamond wedding anniversary.
Our team members came along to help them celebrate the special day - they were completely shocked and didn’t expect a thing.
Here at The Lawns, Chef Wayne has been celebrated for 20 years of excellent service, for which he received a certificate, vouchers and a bottle of champagne. Deputy manager, Sam Towse presented Wayne with his gifts in the resident’s dining room before lunch.
Everyone agreed: “He is an amazing chef, a very caring person and he makes the most amazing cakes!”.
The Lawns care home is located in Oadby, Leicester.
Our deputy manager, Leesa, has just had a gorgeous baby, so we threw her a baby shower to celebrate.
Residents, the team and friends came together to celebrate. Games were played, baby clothes were admired and lots of cake was eaten.
A lovely day was had by all. Many congratulations to Leesa.

On International Nurses Day here at Hungerford Care Home, we wanted to take some time to thank our nurses for all the work they do for us on a daily basis. Kanika and Frances, our recreation and activities coordinators presented Adonis, Vali and Mirela with doughnuts as a show of our appreciation.
