In the garden

Being out in the garden is a much-loved care home activity, whether we are bird watching, gardening with children, having a summer party, or visiting an allotment. Read more about our recent outdoor activities below.

Therapeutic gardening sessions at Clarence Court

Residents of Clarence Court Care Home put their gardening talents to good use during a fun activity.

Recently our team enjoyed a Zoom call with Trellis Gardening who gave us tips on running therapeutic gardening sessions for our residents. Many of our residents enjoy gardening, so they were thrilled when we told them we were going to plant onion sets.

The tree of life at Woodbury House

Woodbury House Care Home remember and celebrate life during their annual Memorial Day.

Today was a very special day for all of us as we dedicated it to the memory of those who are no longer with us. Instead of grieving, we smiled and reminisced. Everyone had a lovely time sharing stories and memories of our friends. These warm words brought joy to all of us at Woodbury House.

Summer singing bus

Ivybank House Care Home were thrilled to have a garden performance by Age UK’s Summer Singing Bus.

Age UK have organised a Summer Singing Bus to help bring some joy during these challenging times, especially to those who are unable to see family and friends. We were thrilled when Laura from Age UK and Banes contacted us to see if we would like a garden performance to bring some sunshine our way. Of course we were quick to take them up on this offer and we were touched by the lovely gesture.

A colourful display for National Allotment Week

Residents of Ashbourne Court Care Home got their hands messy for National Allotment Week.

Our residents love gardening, so our team thought National Allotment Week was the perfect reason to go outside and plant some beautiful flowers. It’s also a great way for our residents to get some fresh air and a bit of light exercise.

Our residents lava this sticky activity

It’s about to erupt at The Granby Care Home!

Our residents have been getting their hands messy during our latest arts and crafts activity. Our Magic Moments team planned an exciting challenge to create volcanos out of paper mache. Residents, Jean and Sylvia loved getting involved in this activity. Getting their hands sticky wasn’t an issue for them, as they both did a fantastic job at creating a masterpiece!
