Introducing Amelia, granddaughter of Westbury Court Care Home’s Magic Moments Club Coordinator Suzanne and our latest superhero!
When Amelia was invited to dress as a superhero for Forest & Sandridge Primary School‘s Red Nose Day, she asked her mum if she could dress up as a carer, “Like the ones from Nanny’s work.”
Congratulations to the team at Westbury Court Care Home who have received a ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following a recent inspection.
The home was praised for its person-centred care and rated ‘Good’ overall and in all key categories inspected; ‘Safe’, ‘Effective’, ‘Responsive’ and ‘Well-led’.
brighterkind has won the Feefo Platinum Trusted Service award, an independent seal of excellence that recognises businesses for delivering exceptional experiences, as rated by real customers.
The award recognises the outstanding care and support for residents and their families during the early transition period into a brighterkind care home.
Family members are asked to provide Feefo feedback after they have made an enquiry with a brighterkind home. The Feefo Platinum Trusted Service award has been given for meeting high standards based on the number of reviews and their average rating.
Our Magic Moments Club Coordinator Kay has won Team Member of the month here at Ashbourne Court Care Home for all the care she has taken to help our residents keep in regular touch with their families.
Kay received a lovely letter from our resident Pam’s daughter who lives in Cyprus, thanking Kay for spending individual time with her mum and reading out letters from the family to her. The letter went on to say “In these strange times our family so appreciate what all the team are doing, not just for Mum but for all the residents.”
Congratulations to the team at Colinton Care Home in Edinburgh who received a wonderful review on the leading independent care home review website carehome.co.uk this week.
The daughter of one of our residents wrote "I would like to thank the team at Colinton Care Home for their unfailing commitment to continue to provide an excellent standard of care during the COVID 19 pandemic. Despite the intensely difficult challenges faced by the care home sector, the team at Colinton have continued to focus on the emotional and physical wellbeing of their residents, demonstrating that excellent care can be provided and relatives supported throughout the most difficult of times."
Here at Emberbrook Care Home our Magic Moments Club Coordinator Claire was chatting to our resident Ellis about his hobbies and things he enjoyed doing in his younger days and discovered that he was a huge fan of Banger Racing.
For those who may not know, Banger Racing is a motorsport where old scrap vehicles race against each other, smashing and bashing their way along the track trying to dislodge other cars in an attempt to be first to the chequered flag.
Ellis told Claire that he used to love going to watch the races with his family and that he and his son even took part in some of them!
Huge congratulations to our Deputy Manager Karen, who is celebrating 25 years of service here at Henleigh Hall Care Home.
The team presented Karen with flowers, balloons, cake and vouchers to mark her achievement. Karen, along with Home Manager Lindsey are now the longest serving management team members in Sheffield to be working together at the same home.
Here at Emberbrook Care Home June is a busy month for birthdays, we have 3 to celebrate in the space of two weeks!
Our Magic Moments Club team love to make our resident’s birthdays as special as possible especially with the lack of visitors at the moment. All 3 of our lovely birthday ladies had bedrooms full of flowers, cards and plenty of cake! It was so lovely to see them all so happy and smiling as we helped them celebrated their birthdays.
