Local nursery brings gifts galore for Clarence Court residents

Clarence Court Care Home residents have received a special delivery from the families of children at Woodland Outdoor Kindergarten, West End, in Glasgow.

The Kindergarten Manager, Jenn Low and her colleague Jade Hendry arrived with a trolley laden with Christmas gifts for every resident in our home.

Thanking our wonderful community

Residents at Woodbury House Care Home have been busy preparing baskets of goodies to thank some of the wonderful members of our local community who have been so supportive during these challenging times.

A special thank you to the ladies from our Parish Council’s Coffee Corner who have delivered delicious treats including cakes, muffins and cookies every Wednesday – delicious!

Thanking our wonderful community for their kindness and support

Everyone here at Houndswood House Care Home would like to thank our local community for all the support you have shown us over the last few months.

As a gesture of appreciation and to spread the kindness, our residents have been busy potting wildflower seeds which we have been giving out to people to grow in their own gardens.

A wildflower thank you

The residents of Hungerford Care Home thanked the community with wildflowers as an act to spread kindness.

Recently, our residents have been busy planting wildflower seeds into pots. As many of our residents love gardening, they were extremely excited about doing this activity. It was fantastic to see them enjoying putting their green fingers to good use. As the wildflowers were being distributed to the local community, our residents put a lot of care into the potting to make them extra special.

National Best Friend Day!

The residents at Woodbury House Care Home recently celebrated National Best Friend Day by writing letters to our friends.

We thought it would be nice to start our celebrations off with some exercises with the best, friendly music we could find and we all had a great time. We then took some time to remember our friends, we spent time talking about them and all the fun things we have done. This was such a lovely thing to do and we all loved reminscing on the friendships we have had.

The most important point of the day for us was writing a letter

Thank you Drakes!

The residents at The Granby Care Home recently had a delicious surprise from Drakes of Knaresborough who kindly offered complimentary Fish & Chips for all our residents and the whole team!

This was an amazing treat for us all and the perfect way to help us make our home manager, Michelle’s birthday special! She couldn’t believe how kind Drakes had been and was really excited to see all our residents faces when we delivered them their treat. It’s really lovely of Drakes to make a gesture like this and it has certainly lifted everyone’s spirits. Thank you to Drakes and happy birthday Michelle!

Thank you Watford FC!

The residents and team at Houndswood House Care Home were surprised by Watford Football Club who kindly brought us some cakes.

Our friends at Watford FC are very thoughtful to think of us during this time. Our residents have visited the football grounds before and love it! They dropped off a copy of the Golden Times full of pictures and news of the Watford FC scheme which will be a very popular read in the home. Thank you to Watford FC and may you have a successful season in 2020/2021.

Thank you to Ben at Aquatech!

The team at The Granby Care Home recently had a special treat from Ben from Aquatech who kindly volunteered his time to wash all our team’s cars.

Ben at Aquatech came to the home and washed all our care teams’ cars! Ben has been offering his services for free to local care homes and has washed 189 cars this week. We are so grateful to Ben for doing this. Ben also left us with some tiny knitted hearts with the message: ‘My name is Ben and I own Aqua Tech Valeting. Please accept this little gesture from all of us. To remind you that everything you do as a key worker doesn’t go unrecognised. This heart has been in quarantine for 10 days for your peace of mind and can be a symbol of luck and also to remind you how amazing you all are. Thank You.’

Thank you to the children at St Nicholas School!

The team at Houndswood House Care Home were very pleasantly surprised when they received a lovely box of biscuits and some lovely drawings from their local school.

St Nicholas School in Elstree very kindly gifted the Houndswood House team a big box of biscuits to keep spirits high amongst the team. They also dropped off some drawings that they drew for our residents which were brilliant. We are going to hang them up for all our resident to see. It’s so lovely to see our community coming together to support each other in a time like this and we really appreciate everything everyone does for us.
