Care at Avery Mews is about the resident. With close links to the Dewsbury District Hospital, our family atmosphere and memorial garden provide an ideal home.
All areas of personal care are centred around the individual; our primary focus is to ensure our residents love every day. Our excellent activities team facilitate local trips which our residents love, one main example is our Mirfield Barge trips. Our residential care is provided in the Pennie Mews area of our home, with patio areas of the local greenway easily accessible to residents.
Wishing Wells at Avery Mews are a central part of residential life and our Magic Moments programme in the home. Our most recent success involved a wish from two residents who desired to visit the dance hall in Blackpool. The day that we organised to grant this wish was magical, with both ladies given the opportunity to remember dancing with their husbands, overjoyed to have their wishes fulfilled.
Caring for complex needs
This is for residents with more complex healthcare needs, and who require the supervision of fully qualified nurses. This might involve frequent medication regimes, wound care, constant assessment, monitoring and care planning.
Round-the-clock specialised service
Our registered nurses are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and specialise in providing therapeutic care for our residents. They are supported by our highly skilled carers, who assist with all aspects of personal care and support.
