dementia care at Hungerford

dementia care

Just a stone’s throw from the North Wessex Downs, Hungerford Care Home’s fantastic level of care is complemented by our stunning scenic setting. We specialise in nursing and dementia care, whilst being committed to ensuring our residents continue their connection with the community through different trips in resident selected locations.

Dementia care in our home is centred around our Martins Wing, with the entirety of our dedicated team have been given dementia training. Our Dementia Champions work very closely with our care home support team to create a relaxed atmosphere throughout the home in order to meet the individual needs of our residents. The team works closely with the family and outside professionals in building the resident’s best care plan, in addition to the interactive aspects of the home, from our extensive activities programme to our secure sensory gardens.

Caring for complex needs

This is for residents with more complex healthcare needs, and who require the supervision of fully qualified nurses. This might involve frequent medication regimes, wound care, constant assessment, monitoring and care planning.

Round-the-clock specialised service

Our registered nurses are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and specialise in providing therapeutic care for our residents. They are supported by our highly skilled carers, who assist with all aspects of personal care and support.
