“I had a special day on my 92nd birthday, it was magical.”
Resident, Josie at The Berkshire Care Home had a lovely celebration for her 92nd birthday.
Our team planned a socially distanced party in the garden with all our residents. Josie had a fantastic time and joined with the singer. She was fantastic and we all applauded and sang with her.
Josie is a remarkable person who is extremely talented at embroidery. We spent the day admiring her wonderful embroidery works. One of her creations portrays big events in history, which took place prior to the millennium. Josie’s memory is very impressive as she memorised the events she documented. This is why Josie always places at the top for quizzes as she remembers everything from the 40s onwards. We often call her a live book!
Josie said, “I am very happy today as it’s my birthday and it was special. My son got to see me this morning after a long time. The Birthday Party was beautiful. Thank you to the chef who baked a delicious Birthday Cake. I had a special day on my 92nd birthday, it was magical.”
During the celebrations, our residents and team members were delighted to hear stories from Josie’s childhood and World War 2.
Our team member, Adonis told us, “It was a lovely day for our Josie and us too. I loved her stories she was telling. She is an amazing lady with wonderful memory. Josie enjoyed very much the Birthday Party”
