Residents of Houndswood House Care Home enjoyed celebrating Harvest Festival celebrations with local schools and giving back to the community.
We organised an exciting three-day Harvest Festival celebration. This included an in-house fete with lots of games, a feast with traditional harvest dishes including fidget pie, honey baked gammon and pear tarts and a virtual church service. Christ Church & St John’s held a service via video call, which was also watched by students of Queens School.
Our residents also received homemade heart-warming cards from students of St John’s School. The students wrote lovely messages explaining what Harvest Festival meant to them.
We also think it’s important to give back to our community, so our resident created lovely food hampers with a variety of food including canned goods. We donated the baskets to Borehamwood Food Bank.
Magic Moments Club Co-ordinator, Simon said: “I would like to wish everyone a happy harvest and a prosperous year with growth and happiness. Thank you to the residents, schools and team members who made this a wonderful celebration.”
Resident, Joan said: “We all had a wonderful time, thanks to everyone involved.”
