Baking for Cupcake Day!

The Granby Care Home in Harrogate make cakes!

The residents at The Granby Care Home love baking and eating sweet treats so it was our time to shine when we realised it was National Cupcake Day!

Our residents loved baking and decorating our cakes with the help of the Magic Moments Club team. We all took turns in stirring in the ingredients making we followed our recipe to make sure they were delicious! We ended up having an abundance for sweet treats for cupcake day. We made and iced cupcakes, biscuits as well as making chocolate cornflake buns. Jean, Margaret and Olive loved getting stuck in and created a feast of delights to share with all the residents. They were enjoyed by all for a pre supper snack!

Resident, Jean, said “They are absolutely lovely!”

At The Granby we believe in living life to the full. That’s why we’re passionate about creating vibrant, stimulating activities that will help our residents to love every day. We call them ‘Magic Moments’.

Every brighterkind home now has a Magic Moments Club which provides a vast range of activities and fun things to do that are open to all of our residents.

The idea behind Magic Moments is that just because someone moves into a care home doesn't mean that the things they love doing should suddenly stop – quite the contrary, we believe our residents should have the opportunity to love every day, by doing the things that they have always loved as well as trying new things along the way.

The Granby Care Home is located in Harrogate, North Yorkshire and provides residential carenursing care and respite care.
