Residents at Westbury Court Care Home have been very busy over the summer months working on a range of summer themed projects.
Our Magic Moments Club team have worked hard in preparing a whole range of activities over the weeks that are all based around summer. Our residents have been doing everything from creating crafts to decorate our home to planting a range of plants in our own garden.
Our residents love getting their creative juices flowing with some arts and crafts so they spent time making flower pots and kites to fly in the garden! We all had a great natter while decorating the flower pots and kites for our attractive displays around the home.
We also had a go at pebble painting which was more difficult than we first realised but still fun none the less. We collected some pebbles from the garden and then used acrylic paints and pens to draw our patterns on to the rocks; we then varnished them to give them a nice finish.
We haven’t just been getting creative with arts and crafts but we have been adding to our garden this summer too. Our residents loved spending time choosing which plants we should plant. We agreed on planting a range of both flowers and vegetables in our raised planters which now look great. The residents have all given lots of advice on how to look after them ensuring we gain the best results possible.
