"It’s so important to keep our residents connected to their local community at this time and we are all very grateful.”
Residents at Woodbury House Care Home have just received a very special delivery from our ‘Postcard Pals’ - a parcel full of lovely letters from our friends at Farley Hill Primary School.
The children have painted lots of colourful pictures to bring cheer to everyone here while visiting is restricted and they’ve certainly brought big smiles to our faces!
We have got to know the children really well over the last year or so during our get-togethers for arts and crafts activities, games and a good old natter. Although we all really miss seeing them it’s been such a treat to receive their cards and letters.
Upon opening a picture with the words “You can’t have a rainbow without a little rain”, resident Sylvia exclaimed, “Oh how wonderful - I love this rainbow, it’s made me so happy.”
Home Manager Samantha said “A huge thank you to our friends at Farley Hill Primary School. Your letters are putting smiles on our all faces and the paintings are wonderful. It’s so important to keep our residents connected to their local community at this time and we are all very grateful.”
brighterkind care homes have set up a new initiative called ‘Postcard Pals’ and are inviting people in our local communities to send in their drawings, letters and cards so we can share them with our residents to keep them connected and cheery and bring a smile to their faces.

Thank you in advance for any postcards of happiness sent into our home, they really bring us such joy!
