Birkin Lodge Care Home in Tunbridge Wells enjoyed a seasonal visit from the Royal Tunbridge Wells Rotary Club to sing some Christmas carols. After last year’s visit was such a success, that the club decided that they’d like to make it an annual tradition to come and visit!
It was such a delightful day and the magic of Christmas was in every single corner of the home, with tinsel, lights and our amazing Christmas trees up, and mince pies and mulled wine for everyone.
We made use of our piano as Robert, one of the Rotary Club members, is such an artist on it. He accompanied the choir and amused us with several Christmas carols played by himself too!
After the carols, everybody enjoyed some Christmas nibbles, mulled wine, tea and coffee and had a good natter. Some of the members knew one of our residents, Frank Davis, and as fans of Tonbridge Angels, they were chatting about their beloved team (one of them came wearing his Tonbridge Angels scarf to show Frank!)
It was such an amazing day for all, residents, team and Rotary Club members. They even brought us chocolates which we shared with everyone in the home!
Natalie Smith, Home Manager, said “We love to welcome everyone in our home, we love to make them feel comfortable and happy with time they spend with us”
Alberto Grima-Carmona, Magic Moments Club Co-ordinator said, “It is such a delight to see so many people in the home, residents love to see new faces and have a chat.”
