The Mayor of Lambeth visits Uplands with Book of Condolence

Residents and team members at Uplands Care Home have welcomed the opportunity to sign one of Lambeth Council’s books of condolence following the death of HM The Queen.

The Mayor of Lambeth, Councillor Pauline George, Deputy Lieutenant, Mr Christopher Wellbelove, Cabinet Member for Health, Councillor Jim Dickson and MP for Streatham, Bell Ribeiro-Addy, visited Uplands with a ‘travelling’ book of condolence.

The guests spent time with residents and the team, reflecting on their memories of Queen Elizabeth II and The Mayor led tributes during a poignant speech.

Home Manager, Catherine Ogbogu-Sang, said: “We were honoured to welcome our special guests to be with us to pay our respects at this very sad time. I know our residents really appreciated being able to sign the book of condolence without leaving their home and be part of our local community’s tributes to HM The Queen.”

Uplands Care Home, located in Streatham, London is rated GOOD by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and provides nursing caredementia carepalliative care and respite care.
