Residents and team members at Meyrick Rise Care Home were joined by family and friends and The Mayor of Bournemouth at a party to celebrate our achievement of a ‘Good’ rating from The Quality Care Commission (CQC).

The Mayor of Bournemouth, Councillor Susan Phillips and brighterkind CEO Jeremy Richardson congratulated the team on their fantastic report which included the attributes ‘Safe’, ‘Effective’, ‘Caring’, ‘Well-Led’ and ‘Responsive’.

Guests gathered to hear the Mayor talk about how joyful our home is and how residents are so obviously well cared for as she declared the party ‘officially started’!

Andy the Magician entertained everyone with his magic tricks before guests were treated to a delicious buffet including not one, but five celebration cakes homemade by team members Jack and Ronnie, each decorated with some of our CQC report attributes.

brighterkind CEO Jeremy was chief cake cutter and served guests with some very generous portions of the delicious lemon, Victoria sponge, coffee and walnut, vanilla and chocolate cakes.

Team member Justine Cowell said “The whole Meyrick Rise family are very proud of our home’s CQC success and deservedly so. Everyone had a fantastic afternoon celebrating and our party most definitely had a ‘Good outcome’!”

At Meyrick Rise we believe in living life to the full. That’s why we’re passionate about creating vibrant, stimulating activities that will help our residents to love every day. We call them ‘Magic Moments’.

Every brighterkind home now has a Magic Moments Club which provides a vast range of activities and fun things to do that are open to all of our residents.

The idea behind Magic Moments is that just because someone moves into a care home doesn't mean that the things they love doing should suddenly stop – quite the contrary, we believe our residents should have the opportunity to love every day, by doing the things that they have always loved as well as trying new things along the way.

Meyrick Rise Care Home is located in Bournemouth, Dorset and provides residential carenursing carepalliative care and respite care.
