On 23rd February, residents at The Berkshire Care Home in Wokingham enjoyed an afternoon of storytelling listening to tales set in glorious Greece.
We were joined by our relatives, friends and members of the local community to be transported to the sunnier climes of the Greek Islands. Our storyteller Chirag Goyate, enthralled us with murder mystery stories including the Agatha Christie whodunnit, ‘Triangle at Rhodes’.
Our chef Robert Baloge cooked up a traditional Greek Meze including feta cheese, olives, moussaka, hummus and little pies with cheese and spinach fillings. The tune of ‘Zorba’s Dance’ made the atmosphere feel like we were on holiday once again.
We also celebrated our resident Frantz's 88th birthday who was joined by members of his family for his special day.
Blerina Cuka, Activities Coordinator said “We had a lovely time listening to the stories and reminiscing about Greece and our holidays spent there. Special thanks to our chef Robert who created a wonderful Greek feast for everyone.”
