Team members at Westbury Court Care Home have been fundraising for our friends at Fairfield Farm College.
Fairfield Farm is a specialist college for young adults with learning disabilities and the students are regular visitors to Westbury Court. Our residents and team members have built up some lovely relationships with them and always look forward to them coming to spend time with us.
The college recently held their annual summer fayre and dog show so we decided to support them by hosting a ‘Water or Wine’ stall and raised an impressive £120.
There were lots of families at the fayre and Magic Moments Club Coordinators Suzanne and Linda were very popular giving out balloons and sweets to the little ones!
Linda said “This is such a good cause. Our residents love the college students coming to visit so we were delighted to be able to support them at their summer fayre.”
At Westbury Court we believe in living life to the full. That’s why we’re passionate about creating vibrant, stimulating activities that will help our residents to love every day. We call them ‘Magic Moments’.
Every brighterkind home now has a Magic Moments Club which provides a vast range of activities and fun things to do that are open to all of our residents. The idea behind Magic Moments is that just because someone moves into a care home doesn't mean that the things they love doing should suddenly stop – quite the contrary, we believe our residents should have the opportunity to love every day, by doing the things that they have always loved as well as trying new things along the way.
