Residents of Woodbury House Care Home are getting excited to celebrate Harvest Festival!
Here at Woodbury House we’ve been busy having fun whilst preparing for our big Harvest Festival celebrations. This week we focused on making delicious preserves out of fresh fruits. Our residents were thrilled to see our tables were full with pears, apples and plums to make tasty jams. We also had strawberries and mint, which were used to make a syrup.
Team member Carla said, “Our residents had a lot of fun when they prepared the preserves from scratch and now we all can’t wait to taste them!”
Everyone had a lovely time making the preserves and reminiscing about when they used to make jams in their own kitchens. Our residents also shared lots of fantastic tips to make our jams and syrups even tastier!
Resident Sylvia loved the activity, commenting, “Making the jams made my day, I love it!”
We didn’t just stop at making our preserves tasty, but we made sure they looked fantastic too by creating labels and decorating the jars. Our residents did an amazing job and we can’t wait to tuck into them on the big day!
Resident Joyce reflected on the activity, commenting, “I wish to do it more often, I have a great time!”
