“It was so lovely to see the children enjoying such a traditional event and making us all laugh as they tossed their pancakes everywhere!”
Residents at Westbury Court Care Home had a great time celebrating Shrove Tuesday with our friends from Westbury Childminding Group.
Youngsters Emily, Phoebe, Oliver and Sebastian mixed up our pancake batter and after chef had cooked them the fun really started. A pancake flipping competition to see could toss the highest caused much hilarity as the pancakes flew everywhere and our poor Maintenance man Adrian ended up wearing one on his head!
Then it was time for a traditional pancake race between the children and team members as residents and childminders cheered us on.
Chef then whipped up a fresh batch of pancakes so we could all tuck into them together – they were delicious and eating them was nearly as much fun as playing with them!

At Westbury Court we believe in living life to the full. That’s why we’re passionate about creating vibrant, stimulating activities that will help our residents to love every day. We call them ‘Magic Moments’.
Every brighterkind home now has a Magic Moments Club which provides a vast range of activities and fun things to do that are open to all of our residents.
The idea behind Magic Moments is that just because someone moves into a care home doesn't mean that the things they love doing should suddenly stop – quite the contrary, we believe our residents should have the opportunity to love every day, by doing the things that they have always loved as well as trying new things along the way.
