Henleigh Hall Care Home are enjoyed an array of exciting activities to celebrate Harvest Festival.
Everyone here at Henleigh Hall love to celebrate Harvest Festival and although we cannot have any visitors this year, we were determined to make sure our residents still had a fantastic time. We’ve been taking lots of lovely photos to share with our residents’ loved ones so they can see all the fun we're having.
Over the past week our residents have been preparing for the festival by collecting lots of leaves from our garden and painting them to create beautiful collages. We used our residents’ creations to play a fun game, which involved tossing coins onto the silver patches of the collage. This game was a big hit with our residents and it had us crying with laughter!
Our fun didn’t stop there as we played lots of Harvest Festival themed games. We’ve had a great time bobbing for apples using a grabber, guessing the number on the tractor and lots of other fun games. Also, our team have been getting into the Harvest Festival spirit by dressing in autumn colours, which looks great!
Recently we organised our own short service, with the help of Reverend Andy who supplied us with the materials and traditional hymns such as ‘we plough the fields’ and ‘scatter’. It was a lovely service and our residents really enjoyed it. A big highlight of our celebrations was the delicious harvest feast which our Chef Nigel made for all our residents.
Here at Henleigh Hall we feel it’s very important to give back, so our team kindly donated produce for us to donate to the Grace Food Bank near us.
Our team member Carole reflected on our celebrations saying, “Another themed day for us all to enjoy, creative and fun for everyone whilst helping the less fortunate in the community at the food bank.”
