World Kindness Day Awards at Ashbourne Court

Ashbourne Court Care Home, Andover, World Kindness Day

“You’ll make me cry! It means so much when I’m just being me.”

Ashbourne Court Care Home celebrated World Kindness Day by showing their appreciation for one and another.

We started the day by getting our residents to share what they love about one and another. We also discussed our random acts of kindness make us feel like one big happy family.

After these discussions, our residents nominated those they wanted to thank for being a great friend. Once we received the nominations, we created certificates and presented them to our residents. Everyone had a lovely reaction when they were awarded their certificate, some welled up with joy and other beamed with happiness.

Resident, Nicola said: “I love dancing and music so to be voted best dancer is wonderful.”

Everyone’s certificates have been put on display in their rooms as a reminder of how appreciated they are.

Resident, Douglas said: “I did have a good wiggle at the beach party but id no idea I was so good!”

Resident, Pamela said: “Thank you for thinking so much of me, it means a lot.”

Magic Moments Club Assistant, Nemily said: “Everyone here looks after each other and that includes those who call Ashbourne Court their home. To see how much it meant to them to be appreciated was very heart-warming.”

Resident, Pamela said: “You’ll make me cry! It means so much when I’m just being me.”
