Residents of The Granby Care Home enjoyed getting crafty for a very special occasion.
Prior to Remembrance Day, our residents got super creative with felt and glue by creating their very own poppy badges for the one day the day that will never be forgotten.
Our residents loved cutting out the petals and leaves then putting them together to form the poppies. Everyone was thrilled with how the badges turned out and they’ve been wearing them with pride ever since!
Remembrance Day means a lot to everyone here at The Granby, so it was lovely our residents were able to make beautiful poppies as a way to pay their respects for the men and women who fought in the war 102 years ago.
Last year our residents, team members and friends of The Granby knitted hundreds of poppies to support Lord Mayor of Harrogate’s Community Poppy Appeal. The poppies were used to create a beautiful display at the front of our home. This year we wanted to create another eye-catching display so our residents created additional poppies for us to use.
