Two residents at Westbury Court Care Home recently visited their favourite dining venue to celebrate their 90th birthdays together.
Residents Roy and Sylvia enjoyed a joint Wishing Well to celebrate their 90th birthdays together at their favourite pub. Both born within a few weeks of eachother, they used to always share a celebratory meal out at The Royal Oak in Hawkeridge.
They both jumped at the chance to visit there again when our Magic Moments Club Team suggested the outing!
The couple enjoyed scampi, chips and peas, a favourite of theirs, alongside celebratory drinks. Sylvia reminisced previous visits to The Royal Oak over the years, and enjoyed seeing the White Horse on the way home!
Linda, Magic Moments Coordinator said "Roy and Sylvia enjoyed their trip down memory lane, both enjoyed the ride out in the mini bus and the sun shining for them!"
brighterkind runs their Wishing Well programme in all of its 70 care homes. Residents are encouraged to make a wish to experience something new or revisit an activity or place they’ve enjoyed in the past and our Magic Moments Club Team arrange for it to happen. Our Magic Moments Clubs provide a vast range of vibrant, stimulating activities that help our residents to love every day. Just because someone moves into a care home doesn't mean that the things they love doing should suddenly stop – quite the contrary, we believe our residents should have the opportunity to do the things that they have always loved as well as trying new things along the way.
