Elizabeth’s paw-fect wish at Clarence Court Care Home

Elizabeth’s paw-fect wish at Clarence Court Care Home- Accompanied by Deputy Manager Sarah Gray, resident Elizabeth McAskill visits Dog’s Trust

On the 4th October, Clarence Court Care Home in Broomhill made a Wishing Well wish come true for their resident Elizabeth McAskill with a trip to the Dog’s Trust in Uddingston.

Founded in 1891, Dog’s Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK and cares for over 15,000 dogs each year.

Elizabeth has a great love for dogs and so Deputy Manager Sarah Gray decided to take her on a visit to the local shelter to spend some time with the brave pups. She got to see a number of different breeds of dogs and even hold a tiny puppy. What better way to make a wish come true and do some good at the same time!

Sarah said “Elizabeth adores dogs so she loved her trip to the Dogs Trust, especially getting to give a puppy a cuddle!”

brighterkind runs their Wishing Well programme in all of its 70 care homes. Right from the beginning we aim to find out about our residents' life stories and get to know the things they would really like to do or what they have done in the past and would love to do again. People are helped to experience their chosen activities or events or to visit places they have long wanted to go.

Clarence Court Care home is located in Broomhill, Glasgow and provides nursing carepalliative care and respite care.
