Ivybank House Care Home goes on safari!

Resident Jo Windsor with Carer Maria Calignano having fun with the birds

Residents at Ivybank House Care Home in Bath enjoyed a day out at Longleat Safari Park on 17th April for their Wishing Well wishes.

Val Welch, Jo Windsor, Ginette Koonjean and Jean Hall all wished to visit the park which is home to many different species of animals and birds and is one of our resident’s favourite places for a day out.

We particularly enjoyed feeding the Rainbow Lorikeets who took a real shine to resident Val who was covered in them! Care Assistant Maria even held Sammy the snake around her neck – brave girl!

Resident Jo Windsor said “I’ve had an amazing day and want to come back again very soon!”

Activities Coordinator Sue James added “We all came home a little windswept but buzzing from a brilliant day out. Arranging Wishing Well wishes for our residents is always such a pleasure and it’s wonderful to see them having such fun.”

brighterkind runs their Wishing Well scheme in all of its 70 care homes. Right from the beginning we aim to find out about our residents' life stories and get to know the things they would really like to do or what they have done in the past and would love to do again. People are helped to experience their chosen activities or events or to visit places they have long wanted to go.

Ivybank House Care Home is located in Bath, Somerset and provides residential care and respite care.
