garden and grounds at Flowerdown

brighterkind Flowerdown Care Home in Winchester

Admire the outdoors

The home is surrounded by lovely gardens, which have been developed by the Friends of Flowerdown with our residents in mind. There is a wheelchair-friendly pathway that incorporates all areas of the garden including the pond, a covered bandstand and raised flowerbeds.

There is also a patio with outdoor seating where we regularly serve afternoon tea, and meals when the weather is fine. A number of residents’ bedrooms have French doors onto the garden, and are free to personalise that space with their own potted plants and bird feeders.

FAQ

Can residents do their own gardening?

While many of our residents are happy to sit back and enjoy the garden and the wildlife, some of our more green-fingered residents love to get stuck in. And our raised beds mean that wheelchair users are also able to join in with the gardening.
