Admire the outdoors
Ivybank House has beautiful well-maintained gardens which surround the house and are very accessible. Residents and visitors enjoy the variety of features such as a patio with outdoor seating and eating area, lawns, raised beds, a koi pond and even a waterfall. We even have a vegetable garden and a summer house. It’s the perfect environment to relax or socialise outdoors.
Our residents regularly walk around the garden for exercise and to admire the plants, and we try and take afternoon tea on the patio whenever the weather is fine.
Can residents do their own gardening?
While many of our residents are happy to sit back and enjoy the garden and the wildlife, some of our more green-fingered residents love to get stuck in. We have a Gardening Group and are currently involved in an allotment project to grow our own veg in raised beds in the garden.
What wildlife do you get in the garden?
There is quite a lot of visiting birds and squirrels who enjoy nibbling at our bird feeders. They’re a real focal point for people to watch. We also occasionally get deer in the garden as well which is a lovely surprise when it happens.
