living rooms at Ivybank House

Relax, socialise, get involved

Each floor has a living room, for the residents to use at their leisure - one of which is a dedicated quiet lounge so people can relax there without being disturbed by TVs or chat.  We also have a conservatory on the first floor where residents can enjoy the outdoors rain or shine!

You can use these rooms to entertain your family and friends, spend time with other residents or take part in activities. If you’re looking for a bit of peace and tranquillity away from the company of others, we also have dedicated quiet spaces for you to enjoy.  We have a 'Destination Station' offering complementary hot drinks and freshly baked cake / biscuits. Residents, their friends and family are all welcome to help themselves.

Making friends

Our living rooms provide the ideal spaces to hold many of our activities – and it's always up to you if you want to get involved. We have lots going on, including an allotment project, a reading group and lots of interaction with local school and nursery children. Organised uniform groups such as the Brownies come in to see us and quite often do little shows for our residents. We have our own mini-bus and do excursions to local places of interest.

FAQ

How can residents spend private time with their relatives?

As well as residents’ own rooms, one of our lounges, and the conservatory, tend to be our quieter spaces where you can spend time with your family – if you’d like a private area for a party or family event, just ask and we will be happy to accommodate that.

Are residents free to come and go around the home as they please?

Of course. This is your home and all the communal areas are here for you to enjoy. If you’d rather spend the day in your room, that’s your choice too.
